Last week (sigh). I spent as much time as possible with my friends and host family during my last week in Peru. Thinking back now, I don't even remember all the of homework assignments and studying I did this week. All I remember is exploring Cusco for the last time with everyone.
On Monday night we organized a soccer match for all of the people with CIS. I'm happy to say that playing soccer the last week was much easier than the first week. The whole time I was in Cusco, Joaquin (my host brother) and I tried to plan a day where we could play soccer together, but each time our plans fell through. Finally, on this night, we got to play together. It was all of us students, our host families, and some other people and it was a whole lot of fun.
On Wednesday, I had my last field trip with my history class. We visited el Monasterio de Santa Catalina. In it, there was a museum about the lives of the sisters of Saint Catherine. The place was beautiful, but it was hard to imagine being one of those ladies, living in silence in that building. I wasn't able to take pictures in there, but I'm sure I'll find some online.

| Pic 1/4 stolen from Google. Inside the monastery. The figures are demonstrating the punishment of one of the sisters. |

| Pic 2/4. Painting gallery inside the monastery. Wow, these were beautiful. Especially the ones in the back (not pictured). |
 |
| Pic 3/4. What the living quarters looks like for the sisters. Fun fact: each cubicle had a whip so a sister could punish herself for having sinned. |

Wednesday night, a group of us went to this cool restaurant called Limbus. It has an incredible view of Cusco and the food is great too. Also, there are cats (my eyes were swollen and I kept sneezing the rest of the night, but it was worth it).

On Thursday, I had both of my finals. Easy-breezy. On Friday, I walked around Cusco for one of my last times. On one street, there were a bunch of floats sitting out (I never saw the parade so I don't know what they were for). Never have I ever seen such detailed floats. Or such political ones. Here are some pictures:

| This one still makes me lol. Usually, those images are of saints, but instead it was filled with the Peruvian men's soccer team (this was during World Cup). |
 |
| I walked by this one a few times before I realized the meat slab was in the shape of Peru. |
That night, we had another farewell dinner, but this time it was with the staff at USIL. We ate, we danced, we took final pictures together, and we said goodbye :(

 |
| Finally saw the 12 Angled Stone. I wonder if the Incans knew that this random stone on this small, random, cobblestone street would become on of the symbols of Cusco.
